While it is true that Uganda ranks amongst the world’s poorest nations, it’s natural resources give it plenty of hope for a brighter, more prosperous, future.
To the surprise of many foreigners, Uganda enjoys a moderate, and consistent, year round climate. Daily low temperatures average between 60 and 64 degrees and high temperature ranch from 77 to 80 degrees. In addition to being much cooler than people think, Uganda’s climate is perfect for growing coffee. Coffee currently ranks as Uganda’s number one export with 2015 annual sales in excess of $400 million.
In addition to a favorable climate, Uganda also has plenty of fresh water sources. Uganda is home to Lake Victoria, Africa’s largest lake. In all, more than 18% of Uganda’s surface area is comprised of fresh water sources such as rivers, lakes and wetlands. Combined with the moderate climate, Uganda’s fresh water sources open the door for subsistence farming as well as producing cash crops like coffee.
Our hope is that through your donations, we can help Uganda improve their health, education and farming infrastructure and help pave the way to a brighter and more prosperous future.
